WELCOME LETTER
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Agape School of Baton Rouge! We are a private institution that educates children Kindergarten through 7th grade. We will open 8th grade for the 2023-2024 school year. We invite you to navigate through our website to learn more about our school’s vision. More than anything, we hope that you understand our passion for teaching children in a Christ-centered and academically-rich environment.
For some time, “Dream School” was the unofficial name of our institution as we did exactly that, dream of a school that met the high expectations that we desire not only for our children, but for all children in Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas. Upon reflection of our school’s mission, we selected the name Agape School of Baton Rouge. Agape is the Greek word used in the New Testament to describe the self-sacrificing, unconditional nature of Christ’s love. As our name suggests, the heart of the school lies in a desire to teach the whole child- spiritually, emotionally, and cognitively with a strong understanding that they are deeply loved by our Heavenly Father. This speaks to the environment that we wish to provide for your child. Education always grounded in love.
At Agape, children will be taught in small-class sizes so that each student can receive the individual attention needed to be successful. We will offer authentic, hands-on learning experiences and rigorous research-based curricula. We recognize the responsibility and influence of teachers in the classroom and will provide certified, passionate educators. These teachers will not only serve as educators of the mind, but also of the heart. Our teachers will know your child, his/her interests, his/her strengths, and the areas in which he/she need support and guidance.
We are committed to partnering with families as we value the important role parents play in their child’s education. Communication between parents, teachers, and administrators will form the partnership needed for a successful and productive educational experience. Furthermore, we will operate on-site Monday-Thursday to reflect our belief that families are a vital component to educating the whole-child.
We encourage you to read through our website and contact us with any additional questions. We hope to see you in the near future so you can experience the Agape way.
Blessings,
Kelly Gonzales and Ashley Viltz, co-founders
